In order to sustain in the competition the company invested $2.7 billion on their 3G Plus network and bided over 120 licenses for AWS (advanced wireless services) and the spectrum of voice and data services. The UMTS network deployment for 3G was finally completed in 2009. They soon acquired a local GSM provider Aerial Communications. To be more competent in the US 3G market T-Mobile joined hands with Erissson for the new WCDMA technology (wideband code division multiple access). They were the first carrier to deploy HSDPA and WCDMA stations.
T-Mobile marketed their modern GSM, GPRS and EDGE networks and offered advanced mobile services in US and mobile internet browsing. By deploying 3G HSPA+ technology, they were able to offer voice and data services at the same time. They strengthened they network software and focused on the quality of the service. This new technology allowed modern Smartphone users to experience the ultimate wireless technology.
In the rising 4G trend, T-Mobile has high expectations form their present HSPA+ network for a great mobile Internet and wireless experience for their customers. It will also allow simultaneous voice calls and Internet browsing for the customers.
